Once again the weatherman is predicting rain and once again some of the members of the Gulf Coast Ghost Riders decided to take their chances and head to Blessing, Texas to the old Blessing Hotel for lunch. Trouble, Grumpy, and I (Pistol) meet up around 9 am and made our way south to Blessing. We got there around 10:20 am and were told that they were running behind and they were hoping to be open at 11 am. The three of us decided that we would take a ride to Palacios to see the water, and then come back to the hotel for lunch. While on the road, Trouble and Grumpy decided that they rather have seafood so we chanced our course and head for Port Lavaca to a seafood restaurant that Grumpy said was really good. Upon arrival to this seafood restaurant, we were told that they were not open for lunch on the weekends, so we are off to find somewhere else to eat seafood. After a while, Trouble decided to pull into a Mexican food restaurant because he was tired of looking for a place. To make a long story short, the chips were stale and after almost 45 minutes we still had not gotten our food. After a brief discussion we paid for our tea, got back on our bikes, and headed to Blessing to take our chances with the food there. We arrived in Blessing around 12:30 pm and made our way to the dinning area where the buffet consisted of chicken fried steak, fried chicken, liver and onion, a variety of cooked vegetables, salad, and a cherry pineapple dump cake. The food was good, the people there were really friendly, and the price was great ($24 for three people). After filling our bellies we were really finding it hard to want to get back on our bikes but we seemed to manage. Our next stop was Palacios were we stopped at a convenient store for some beverages and walked across the street to look at the water in the bay. After we finished our beverages we headed to Matagorda. Once there we stopped at a little bar and grill called the Riverbend. We cooled off with some ice cool beer and then decided to make our next stop Goe Harley Davidson in Angleton. After a Trouble and I made our purchases, we headed to Angleton Ice House. Around 6 pm we decided to say our goodbyes and make our way home for the evening. Luckily the weatherman was not corrected on his forecast and it ended up being a really nice day.
