Here’s the scenario.  It’s Saturday, July 21, 2007, approximately 8:30 AM with a 60 percent chance of rain looming over the day.  What do you do?  Well if you’re a Gulf Coast Ghost Rider, you ride.  It starts with Trouble showing up at the house, before the first pot of coffee is even made, to help Machine change his oil in his Fat Boy.  Around 10:00 AM, Machine called and said that he was broke down off the beltway.  Well, we don’t leave brothers stranded, so Trouble, Pistol, and myself, loaded up and headed down the road.  We took a look at Machine’s bike, and it appeared that he had a dead battery, or possibly some other electrical issues.  We hung out on the side of the road for a little while and kept Machine company while he waited for a wrecker, and then we were back on the road.

We ended up at Hooters on I-45 around noon and hooked up with Garfield, and a good friend of ours, named Mona.  We munched and chilled for a little while, and then we were off to Santa Fe for a fundraiser sponsored by the Santa Fe Chapter – Citizens Police Alumni Association. All proceeds went to benefit the canine unit and new computer software to track pedophiles.

While there, we ended up meeting several members of the Gulf Coast Chapter of B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse).

Talk about an awesome bunch of people with one hell of a mission.  Our hats our are off to you guys.   100_2429 (2).jpg

We hung out and swapped stories for a little while, and then were back on the road.

We headed south and ended up at one of our favorite watering holes, the Angleton Icehouse.  We were hoping for a BBQ Cook-off and a bikini contest, but neither happened.  Since we were already in Angleton, we swung by Goe Harley Davidson to have a look around.  Surprisingly, Pistol controlled her addiction to buy anything this time!  Garfield bought some stuff for his new bike.

Garfield had to boogie on down the road, so we said our goodbyes to him, and then headed to Damon to a fairly new icehouse called West of the Brazos.

We had a bite to eat and a couple refreshments and decided to call it a day.

We rode back through Angleton, where Trouble broke off from us, and Pistol, Mona, and I headed to Pearland. We got home around 8:00 PM, with about another 150 miles on our bikes.  Skies were clear, got a little sunburned, and met some great people.

Lots of great fundraisers and events coming, so don’t be afraid of any rain.  God looks after drunks & fools. Oh yea! And Bikers!
