What a beautiful day it was today to get out and do what we do, ride baby ride! On behalf of the Outcasts Chapter of the Sons Of Texas MTA, we extend greetings and hope that our Brothers and Sisters across the great state of Texas were able to enjoy the day as we did. Today was a day that made you thank the Good Lord for life, for living in this great land, and for the privilege of owning a Harley. We are fortunate indeed.

The day started at Cass' house where Fergy and DiamondLyl, Papa, and Ann, Cass and myself headed out to meet with our good friends Rick and Joyce, and Dale and Bessie. We took off after our rendezvous in Cleveland and were Yankee's Tavern bound. I know some of you have been there and some of you have not. But this is a ride that is worthwhile no matter how many times you have been. The Texas countryside along the highways that stretch from Cleveland, to New Waverly, to Richards, to Anderson, and then finally to Carlos are among some of the finest in the State. Long winding curves that cascade into rises and falls that present far off vistas that allow you to see for miles are all along the route. Couple that with perfect weather and bluebird skies and that describes today. It was truly a perfect day for riding. There were lots of folks out today that had the same idea. Lots of bikes on the road. And I don't recall a single group that wasn't eager to give "the wave" as we would ride past each other.

But while we were at Yankee's, as I said before, lots of people were out too, there was an hour wait to get our food order. An hour would have been good. It was more like an hour and a half. It's not a big deal, but we made it a point to "pace" ourselves and not have too many cold ones. Don't want to ruin such a perfect day. In the end it was well worth it. We got a chance to sit and enjoy each others company and to stroll around and look at all the bikes in the parking area. It's really a bike show! And we also were able to do everybody's favorite thing, people watch! There were definitely some characters there!! Something else we observed at Yankee's was a flyer for a Charity Ride that we all thought might be worth bringing to everyone's attention. It's called Ridin' for the Rose. It is a ride that benefits the MD Anderson Cancer Center. It takes place on April 6th. We don't know what everyone's schedule looks like right now so we don't have anything set in stone. We just thought it looked like something that would be of interest to our Association. We can all talk about it and see if it's going to work out, but it is definitely a worthy cause.

Well, take care Brothers and Sisters, until next time, as Brother Smokin' Joe likes to say, "keep the shiny side up!"
