On May 5th, 2007, Smokin' Joe and Bahama Mama took a trip over to Jim's Cycle Shop in Axtell, Texas, where the Waco Chapter of the Iron Pigs MC was having their 3rd annual Brazos Bash. We got there around 10 AM and stayed until around 3 PM. Due to the extensive amount of rain that they had received in this area recently, the grounds were pretty swampy. The weather was overcast and drizzling lightly most of the time that we were there. However, we met and visited with several members of the Waco Chapter IPMC and had a really nice time. They said that they had had a really good turn-out the night before (Friday night) with a live band, etc., and they probably had a good turn-out Saturday evening as well...because the weather was supposed to be clearing off for the rest of the afternoon. As we were leaving, we met several bikers that were headed that direction, so hopefully, they had a good turnout Saturday evening as well. Due to the weather, we opted to leave and come on home. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived back home, the sun was shining! Typical Texas weather!! Oh well, we went, we visited, we had a good time, and we made some new friends. I'm sure that we'll see them again at another function somewhere down the road. We also met and visited with several members of the Christian Motorcycle Association, many of whom we already knew from prior events that we had attended. My mother was recently diagnosed with in-operable cancer (about a week and a half ago). And when we mentioned it to them, they were quick to come together and offer up a beautiful, sincere prayer for my mother and my family. The CMA is a fantastic group of people who I always enjoy visiting with. Bahama Mama with some of the ladies from the Christian Motorcycle Association who were very eager to lend their support to Bahama Mama, and her family, as she starts the battle of her mother just finding out that she has cancer. More friends and family from the CMA whom we had met and visited with at other events and were pleased to see and visit with again. Last but not least, we also had the pleasure of meeting some members of the Widow Sons which is a chapter of the Masonic Club. These were also very nice people whom we enjoyed meeting and visiting with. All in all, we had a really nice visit with many nice people and had a good time, although the weather could have been a little more cooperative. Click on picture to enlarge |
