Background Checks

The Sons of Texas Motorcycle Touring Association does run a background check on prospective members to eliminate candidates that have a habitual criminal background, problems with spousal abuse or other anger management issues or any history of criminal sexual activity.

We're not better than everyone else, and we don't like to exclude anybody unless we have to, but we are protective of our wives and kids so we don't want any pedophiles and rapists hanging around.

We also work hard at getting along with the rest of the biker community so we don’t want people that stay in trouble....bar fighting and brawling. This is a family oriented association, not an outlaw club. Each member is expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate and respectful manner. We have no desire to make any enemies....only friends.

Wearing a motorcycle patch is a grave responsibility. How you act when you are out in public with our patch on effects everyone else that wears the patch and visa versa. Because we are an association focused on helping others by attending benefits, charities and fundraisers, and because we also explore our Texas history and tour the entire state of Texas, we have to be able to travel freely and un-molested throughout the state. Because of this, every SOT Ranger and Posse must be on their best behavior with everyone when they are in their colors. The SOT has no rivals or enemies only friends.
