(This is another of my amateur poems based on real events that took place.  I hope that you will enjoy it.)

It was our fifth wedding anniversary
and I had been very sick.
I wanted to get my husband something really special
but money did not permit.

A month after our anniversary,
I got approved for my disability.
The gift I had wanted to get for him,
was now a real possibility.

He wanted a Harley so bad
that it made me sad
not to be able to give him his wish
and fill him with complete bliss.

We had a Heritage Softail picked out,
it was a beautiful bright blue
and when we left, I looked at him and said,
"now it finally belongs to you"!

My gift was a month late,
but it had been well worth the wait.
For my husband left there with a smile
that seemed to stretch for a mile.

As he rode it home that day
he was so very proud
I know that in his own way,
he felt like he was riding on a cloud.
